Your website, in your ChatGPT.
Updated 30 September 2026. Builders change their menus often; if a step looks different, use the linked help article.
Use your own ChatGPT client to change real website files, work with gallery assets, run builds and review drafts. Your Runalio sign-in controls which websites the connection can access.
Connect your websites
- Sign in at portal.runalio.com, select a website and open Design space → Connect ChatGPT. The account owner enables ChatGPT access for each website.
- In ChatGPT, open Settings → Security and login → Developer mode. Availability depends on your account and workspace policy.
- Open ChatGPT Plugins, select the plus button and add a connection named Runalio. Choose a public HTTPS endpoint and enter
https://portal.runalio.com/mcp. Choose OAuth authentication and leave the optional Client ID and Client Secret fields empty. ChatGPT identifies itself automatically. No Runalio API key is required. - Sign in on the Runalio consent screen, review the requested permissions and select the websites you want to authorize. A per-website URL from the portal limits the connection to that website.
- Add the connection from the tools menu in a new ChatGPT conversation. Ask “Show my websites,” then choose the website to edit.
If setup reports invalid_client
Remove the failed manual connection and add it again with the endpoint above, OAuth authentication and the optional client fields empty. A manually entered or stale client ID may not be registered with Runalio. Confirm that ChatGPT access is enabled for your website in the portal before approving permissions.
Edit, preview and publish
Try “Read my homepage and change the background to light blue.” ChatGPT reads the current source and queues real changes in the selected website container. The result is a private draft with a preview. Direct edits and builds use no Runalio model tokens. Asking Runalio’s coding agent to perform the work uses your account’s shared model allowance. Your ChatGPT usage is handled by your ChatGPT subscription.
To publish, ask ChatGPT to prepare publication. Open the Runalio approval link, inspect the preview and approve that exact revision. Return to ChatGPT to complete publication. Changing the draft invalidates an older approval. A chat message alone does not approve publication.
Files, imports and teams
Ask to list gallery assets or explicitly share a file. Small files can be transferred directly; larger files use short-lived upload links, up to 100 MB within the account’s shared storage allowance. Import a public website you have permission to reuse with Import Website. Forms and payment backends require reconnection.
Existing owner and editor permissions apply. Disable website access or revoke a connection from Connect ChatGPT. Removing a team member also ends their access. Runalio infrastructure, cloud credentials and other customers’ websites are outside the connection.
Install or submit the packaged plugin
Download the Runalio plugin ZIP
The package includes the MCP connection and a website-design skill. It is available for developer testing; public-directory publication requires OpenAI review. Per-website packages are downloadable from the portal.
Publishers can upload the ZIP at OpenAI Platform → Plugins, using a verified publishing identity. Connect and scan the MCP service, complete domain verification, add reviewer credentials and a recording, then submit for review. Publish after approval.
See the official connection guide and submission requirements.
