MOVE TO RUNALIO

Move your website to Runalio.

Updated 30 September 2026. Builders change their menus often; if a step looks different, use the linked help article.

Moving a small-business website to Runalio is mostly about saving what you have and re-entering it in the right places. You don’t have to rebuild from scratch. These guides show what to save from your current builder, how to recreate your site in Runalio, and how to keep your domain and email safe along the way.

Business facts, services and pricesSave them in Business details and Services, or provide them in the design chat. Review facts before publication.
Documents, photos, images and videosUpload in the chat or Asset gallery. The coding agent can use them in your website. Up to 100 MB per file; 2 GB of gallery storage is shared by the account.
Pages and visual designAsk the agent to rebuild your layout, colors and additional HTML pages from your content and references. Review the side preview. Use Import Website to capture permitted public pages, styling and media into a private editable draft. Rebuild source-specific interactions with the agent.
Contact-form inquiriesNew inquiries arrive in Leads. Add past submissions manually, up to 200 leads per website, and retain your exports. An uploaded CSV does not automatically import leads.
Store, bookings and paymentsThese need an implementation and a separate payment or booking integration. Uploading an export does not migrate inventory, orders, subscriptions or payment credentials. Test each required workflow before switching.
Domains and emailNew domain registration and SSL are separately priced extras. Existing-domain self-service connection and mailbox migration are not available. Keep your current registrar and email provider until your move is arranged.
Multiple businesses and team membersStarter and Business support one website, Pro five and Agency twenty. Invite editors from Websites & team. Tokens, storage and hosting resources are shared across the account.

The safe order

  1. Keep your current website and plan active until your Runalio website is published and checked.
  2. Save what you have: page text, images, contacts and form submissions. Your builder’s guide below shows where each one lives.
  3. Create your Runalio workspace and add your business details and services.
  4. Create and review your website draft, then publish it on your free Runalio address.
  5. Send yourself a test inquiry from the published site and confirm it appears in Leads.
  6. Decide what to do with your domain, keeping your email records untouched.
  7. Only then cancel or downgrade your old plan, after checking whether it also covers a domain or email you bought from the same company.

Recreate your site in Runalio

  1. Sign in at portal.runalio.com. Choose the correct website in the website selector. The portal opens in your business dashboard. Choose Design space to chat with your coding agent.
  2. Save the business name, contact details, services and prices in Business details and Services. These manual changes do not use AI tokens.
  3. Use Import Website for a public URL you have permission to reuse, then choose pages and inspect the report. Importing replaces the working design while preserving the live site. Or use Add content to upload your text, brand guidelines, photos or video, or paste written content. Files appear in the Asset gallery; attach the relevant files to the chat.
  4. Ask the agent to recreate the site using those files. Messages can contain up to 12,000 characters. For example: “Rebuild our cookie shop from this brief and these photos. Add About and Contact pages, use light blue and cream, and keep these exact prices.”
  5. Review the actual website preview beside the chat. Use Desktop and Mobile preview, and expand the design space for more room. Ask for color, layout, wording or page changes. AI requests count toward the account’s shared monthly token allowance.
  6. Test images, links, forms and any order or payment integration. Verify every price, claim, contact detail and required privacy notice.
  7. Click Publish website for the reviewed version. Draft changes remain private until publication. Test the public site and send a sample inquiry.

Keep independent copies of your exports. Generated content can contain mistakes, and builder-specific forms or store backends do not move automatically. Do not upload passwords, secret keys or payment card information.

Your domain

Existing-domain connection and transfers are not currently self-service in the portal. Keep your existing domain and email records intact while arranging the move. You can:

  1. Keep your current domain where it is while reviewing the new site on its free Runalio URL.
  2. Use your registrar’s website forwarding, if available, to send visitors to the published Runalio URL. The browser shows the Runalio URL. Avoid masked forwarding and keep email DNS records intact. The website’s Runalio URL is retained when the same website is unpublished and republished.
  3. Register a new .com, .net or .org domain in the chat. Use Find a domain, review live availability, then have the account owner approve the domain and SSL charges and complete checkout. Runalio automates registration and DNS in AWS and uses AWS Certificate Manager for SSL. Domain registration and SSL are optional extras outside every monthly package. Initial certificate issuance and deployment is $14 for the domain and www, in addition to the displayed annual domain price. This checkout creates no recurring SSL charge. US registrant contacts are supported. Complete the registrar verification email and allow time for DNS and certificate issuance.

Contact support to discuss an existing domain before changing nameservers, cancelling a registrar or altering email records.

Email on your domain

Your website move does not migrate customer mailboxes. Keep your existing email provider and mailbox subscription active. Record its DNS settings before changing any website record:

  • MX records route incoming mail.
  • SPF, DMARC and verification TXT records support delivery and account verification.
  • DKIM TXT or CNAME records authenticate outgoing mail.

Preserve these records when changing website A or CNAME records. A nameserver change can affect every record in the zone; ask your DNS provider to preserve the full zone and test incoming and outgoing mail before cancelling any service.

Search rankings and old links

  • Save a list of existing page URLs. Ask the agent to recreate the relevant pages and links. Old builder URLs and redirects are not imported automatically.
  • Plan redirects with support if the public address changes. Verify that important pages work on desktop and mobile before switching.
  • Update your business profile, social accounts and directory listings once the final website URL is live.
  • Keep the old site available until publication and essential workflows have been checked. Search rankings and crawl timing are not guaranteed.
